Calorie Counting Aps: Livestrong VS MyFitnessPal

If you read my first post then you know I recommended downloading a calorie counting app. I still do. The one I have been faithfully using is free and is MyFitnessPal, but I read some reviews about the $2.99 livestrong app, had an Itunes gift card and decided, what the hell? I'll try it. The reviews are all positive, but here are my first impressions:

Amazing Arms Strength Routine

Alright, a week's gone by. It's time for a new post. Keep doing the lean legs, but add in this routine for killer arms, shoulders and back. As always. WARM UP first. Toe touches, arm circles, wrist circles, windmills, get some blood flowing to your upper body. Be sure to do at LEAST 30 minutes of cardio before or after this routine (I prefer to do my cardio before my strength, but that's just me! You do what ever is best for you!) I recommend doing some kind of cardio that does not involve arms after this one and maybe for the next couple days. So I wouldn't swim or use an elliptical till maybe Wednesday if you do those types of cardio work outs.

LEAN LEGS APRIL STRENGTH WORKOUT

Here we go! Lean legs for April! Try to do this routine two - three times a week. You'll notice there isn't a lot of focus on your quads. This is because the Beautiful Butt workout I'll post tomorrow or the next day has exercises targeting that area. This is mostly an inner thigh work out. I've pulled some of my favorite exercises from all over and compiled them here. I HATE complicated maneuvers that require 5 pieces of gym equipment so you'll notice that most of them are fairly simple!

First Post About First Steps!

Seems like a logical way to start off the blog, right? Before you jump right on into the whole working out and losing weight thing you need to do a couple things.

1) Weigh yourself. You'll know where you started! Invest in a scale.
2) Take your measurements and write them down. Measure your waist (smallest part) and hips (widest part). This is important; at first/eventually you may actually gain weight because muscle weighs more than fat!
